What's a Chaddar?

Greetings and salutations to one and all,
To answer the first question, a chaddar is blanket, an Indian blanket to be more precise that can be used as a sleeping mat or a blanket on very cold nights.
Then the obvious next question would be, what's the story with Nareshwadi?
Well Nareshwadi is a boarding school somewhere north of Maharashtra, about 3 hours by train trip from Mumbai, India.  Their website is www.nareshwadi.org
Now why do they need 500 chaddars?
Boy you have a lot of questions!
Well last year, I visited this amazing place with the help of the good people of Atma Mumbai.  There I stayed with the kids for about 2 months as a summer camp coordinator, you will be able to read about the summer camp and see more pictures on my previous blog - http://wisenomad.blogspot.com.   Well whilst I was there I observed the facilities and the way the kids were living, so I had that time made up my mind that I will revisit them this year with some funds to help the kids in the school.  Hence the donation drive for chaddars for the 500 children boarding in the school.
My plan is quite simple, in April I plan to visit Nareshwadi and hopefully with these funds collected I will have the funds to buy a chaddar in India for every kid in the school before the monsoons start in June.  So if you are interested, do make your pledge on this blog and bank it the money to my new Maybank account that I will post the scanned statement for everyone before I leave for India
